First Aid at Work (FAW) — 3 Day
Our most complete workplace qualification — around six hours of e-learning followed by two practical days at your premises — for medium and higher-risk sites that need fully-trained workplace first aiders.
An in-depth look at the course
First Aid at Work (FAW) is the full three-day, Level 3 qualification for workplaces that need more than emergency cover. It builds on everything in the one-day EFAW course and adds the wider range of injuries and sudden illnesses a first aider may face on a medium or higher-risk site — from fractures and head injuries to anaphylaxis, heart attack and stroke.
We deliver it as a blended programme: around six hours of online e-learning to cover the theory at each learner's own pace, followed by two practical, fully-assessed days with a trainer at your premises. That keeps people out of the classroom for less time while protecting all the hands-on practice that actually builds competence.

Who should attend
FAW is designed for designated workplace first aiders in medium and higher-risk environments — factories, warehouses, construction, engineering, manufacturing and larger sites where a needs assessment calls for fuller cover. It suits people taking on the lead first-aid role, and organisations that want one or more fully-qualified first aiders on site. If your workplace is lower-risk, the one-day EFAW course is usually sufficient.
Assessment & certification
Delegates are assessed continuously across the two practical days through observed demonstration of skills, supported by short written question papers that check underpinning knowledge. The e-learning module is completed beforehand and is a prerequisite for attending the practical days. Successful learners receive a Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF), accredited by FAIB or Qualsafe and valid for three years. Before it expires, the two-day requalification course renews it without repeating all three days.
How on-site training works
Once your team has completed the e-learning, our trainer runs the two practical days at your premises with all the manikins, AED trainers and equipment provided. You need a room with floor space for casualty and CPR practice and a power socket. One fixed price covers up to 12 people across the course, and we will schedule the practical days around your operation — including consecutive or split days where that works better.
